CARE AND ROTATION OF H&L TEETH… 546 FLEXHOL SERIES TOOTH INSTALLATION Mining… Observing the general shovel bucket wear pattern of your system and changing individual teeth or groups of teeth at the appropriate time can increase tons per tooth. A typical wear pattern develops on the machine operator’s side at a faster rate than the opposite side. Rotation of teeth is recommended when the teeth appear to have worn down to sixty percent of the blade area. To help in determining the wear pattern on 546 series teeth a round indicator has been forged in the tooth (see engineering publication M016.2003 for more information).
Rotating teeth is only an option and not a requirement. Only the mine maintenance personnel know the wear patterns of their shovel, DEVELOP THE BEST MAINTENANCE PROGRAM FOR YOUR DIGGING CONDITIONS.
Construction… Working hours per tooth or tons per tooth based on cost is not tracked when operating excavator or backhoe buckets or equipment. Rotation of teeth will add additional wear life to your teeth.
